Our standards of “basic” and “comprehensive” editing roughly follow the descriptions of “light” and “heavy” editing as found in The Copyeditor’s Handbook by Amy Einsohn. As copyeditors we cannot unilaterally decide what level of editing your paper requires. The decision to apply “basic” or “comprehensive” editing must be a mutual one, agreed to by you and us.
Beyond Grammar, an editing service based in Ithaca, NY, USA, and Toronto, Ont., Canada, provides editing and critiquing of academic papers, journal articles, college admission letters, and other writing for students, faculty, and anyone else communicating via the written word.
Helped a client with every aspect of his web presence. Worked with the client extensively on content strategy and search engine optimization, before assembling a simple-yet-elegant design that seemed brand-appropriate. Developed simple managed-content back-end in Django to support the site, leveraging mostly Flatpages as well as a contact form. Wanted to work within a small budget, but to leverage a framework that would allow for additional features like user login and payment.
